If you’re reaching out for help, this probably isn’t the first time you’re trying to create a sleep routine. More than likely, you’ve read or heard about how sleep training should go, given it a shot, and it’s worked differently than it was described. For some people, it works beautifully at first, and then something knocks it off course, like an illness or a vacation, or a new sibling. For some families, one parent loves the cuddle time that comes from a child coming into their bed each night, and another parent craves their quiet, parent-only bed. Some families have been trying since the moment sleep training is approved and still had difficulty getting their child to sleep on time and stay asleep throughout the night.

We are both child psychologists and have focused our training on coaching parents to manage behaviors in children. Together we have treated over 250 children, some with diagnoses including anxiety, trauma, autism, or ADHD, and some with no diagnoses and just difficulty listening to their parents or regulating their emotions.
Although we were both drawn to child psychology because we genuinely love working with children (and getting to play with them occasionally is a great perk of the job!), nothing delights us more than watching parents and kids get closer, watching their relationship get less stressful, and watching parents increase their confidence and realize what amazing parents they can be.
